In 2020, WWE bought the rights to provide third parties with its games. This included several popular video games, which include WWE Superstar, NBA Jam, and NBA Live. These games were created by Ubisoft and are well-known among the WWE fan base.

This bargain was met with skepticism from WWE due to the amount of money. But in the long run, it was seen as a positive factor for the company. For starters, it gave them the capability to earn more money, as most games coming out are promoting less than WWE Superstar has.

As WWE Superstar was released, it is now available to be played around the Wii. This sport can be purchased at a price that was lower, and also the use of the Wii system has helped keep it inside the target market of the hardcore wrestling fan. It's a game.

A year after, the company announced they would be releasing the next setup in the WWE Universe. This would be known as WWE 2K18. Yuke's was developing it. But, it had been cancelled at the last minute because of"possible financial issues".

With a few minor alterations, WWE Universe could well return to the forefront of gaming, and still be a massive hit.
